Explore Chania

The city of Chania is located the north-west coast of Crete. Its a centerpiece for cruise ships and usually has a vivid nightlife from the locals and the tourists on the Summer months. There are numerous small streets, setting out like a labyrinth in the old town of Chania, that is located inside the ancient Venetial walls. All in front of a mesmerising water front, that is ideal for a walk, especially on the golden hour.

Port of Chania

The port of Chania is on an area that is located 7km east of the city of Chania, called Souda. Nearby you can find the Allied War Cemetery, that might be of interest. The cruise ships visitors are connected with a bus with the centre of the city of Chania.  The journey is about 10 minutes and drops you off to the center, next to Chania Covered market. You can also book a taxi for an easier ride, or to go straigh to the old town.

Getting around in Chania

Once you arive to the city centre or the old town of Chania, you can go everywhere on foot. You can also find a hop-on,hop-off bus tour next to the Ktel or take a horse-drawn carriage from the old harbour.

What to see in Chania

The city of Chania is split into the old town and the new. The old town includes the old venetian harbour and is basically located between the venetian walls of the city on the sea front.  The new town is the city build around tha area that contains the commercial shops.
